She is the Biggest Winner

I have a sister named Mango, she is two years older than me, which is turning 30. Her life was full of ups and downs, one year ago she got divorced. I thout that might be the eternal wound for her. My parents were much worried about how she could be able to hold up all things for such a weak daughter. To astonish us is we never thought she can be so strong to face all the desperation.

Mango had a very frail appearance, mostly because she is quite short and thin, she was only 1.58 meters tall weighing 41 kilograms ever since she got married. She spent five years with her husband James, from the date to marriage she gave all her precious youth, love and money to him but in returning cheat, betray and hurt.

Most of newly divorced people would do some crazy thing to catharsis their grieved emotion of failure marriage by crying all day long, complaining grievance to their friends or family, meet another guy, or take long trip to escape from reality……, I totally agreed by those solutions to cure one’s hurt. I knew Mango was suffering from devastation back in those days, since then, she became taciturn, and most of time she prefer stayed alone, we all worried so much about her mental status. Finally, for what we surprised was she resolutely chose to study to erase her dreadful memories. My parents and I were couldn’t be more supportive on her study, we highly wished she could come out from depression.

She resort to go to a Japanese language school for a study which was she always fancied. In last one year, she cast a whole heart in studding. One Sunday I visited her for sending some study references as she required. She was studying though, I looked around her house, it filled with all vocabulary papers on the walls, even the top of mosquito net. After that, before she passed the JLPT 2, I never visited her, I was afraid I’d disturb her study.

She gained the JLPT 2 certification and graduated from school ended nine months schooling, this year, she found herself a job as an interpreter for a Japanese garment factory in her town. Turns out she was doing well in her job, and more importantly, she met her Japanese boyfriend in the company. Every time I meet her, I can vividly sense that she enjoy her present life more than ever, I can tell by her every laugh, and word.

There is an old saying: life is a bitch! People wins and loses, the biggest loser would be those who sink into the past and live in the past, that means your only enemy is not others but yourself. When you overcome yourself, you’re the biggest winner.
